Keeping your arrangement looking good and extending its life is easier than you think!
If you bought cut flowers from our store, we suggest the following:
Re-cut the stems at a 45-degree angle, about a half-inch above what they are currently cut at, under warm water. Cold water may shock flowers.
Remove any foliage that would fall beneath the water level, decaying matter could cause bacteria in the water.
Arrange the flowers in a clean vase with luke warm water. Don't forget to add the cut flower food. Tulips like cool water.
When you have finished arranging your flowers, place the arrangement in a cool, partially shaded but draft-free location.
Check water level daily and add as needed. Also remove any dead flower stems or blooms.
Re-cut stems every 4 days and start in fresh, room temperature water.
Arrangements purchased from us may still require a little care to keep them looking great:
Add water daily, as needed.
Place the arrangement in a cool, partially shaded but draft-free location.
Remove any dead flower stems or blooms.
If the flowers were arranged in a vase, re-cut the stems every 4 days and start in fresh, room temperature water.
General Rule of A Green Thumb.
The warmer and brighter the location you choose to display your floral arrangement, the shorter the lifespan for the flowers. Arrangements should, ideally, be displayed in a cool, shaded, draft-free location. A hot location may cause flowers to wilt.
If you ever notice a stem out of water, re-cut and place back into water.
If your flower(s) have not started to open with-in 2 days, re-cut stem(s) 1-inch up and start in fresh luke warm water.
